Q: We own a vacation home in southwestern Mt. Is there a realtor that has access throughout the US. to sell homes. The house is in a rather remote spot, and I need someone who can advertise it far and wide. The local realtor has not done a good job spreading the word outside of the general area. Looking for someone who is eager to sell vacation homes in this part of the country.

You may be getting more exposure than you realize. Best thing to try is to Google your address and see where it shows up. If your agent is not fully using the Internet, ask why and see if they can do more on the Internet, most sites are very easy to post on. Also ask your agent to provide recent sale data to be sure you are competitively priced and how long is average days on market. In my area (Sierra Mts in Ca) the more remote vacation areas can take a long time to sell. If you still need a new agent many companies do belong to International referral services, such as Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, that can find real estate agents to represent you locally and out to the world.

Realtors are usually licensed in only one state but they doesn?t prevent them from advertising anywhere. So find an agent licensed in Montana that will advertise through any number of websites.
If you have a listing agreement with the agent read it carefully; you may be liable for a commission to him. See an attorney to get an answer to that questions.
